Generative AI Policies

This policy aligns with guidelines from STM, Elsevier, and WAME. Andromeda : Jurnal Manajemen dan Bisnis Syariah supports the responsible use of generative AI tools (ChatGPT, Copilot, Gemini, Claude, NovelAI, Jasper AI, DALL-E, Midjourney, and Runway) to assist with research and manuscript preparation. However, authors, editors, and reviewers must remain mindful of key risks, including inaccuracies/hallucinations, bias, lack of attribution, and confidentiality or copyright concerns.

For Authors :

1. Permitted Use
   AI may be used for idea exploration, improving language/grammar, searching literature, classifying data, and aiding code development.
2. Core Responsibility
   Authors are fully accountable for the originality, accuracy, and integrity of their work. Generative AI tools cannot be credited as authors (co-authors).
3. Transparency Requirement
   Authors must explicitly declare any AI use in the Methods or Acknowledgements section, specifying the tool's full name, version, and purpose of use.
4. Restrictions :
   1. AI-generated text or code must be rigorously reviewed before submission.
   2. Synthetic data generation cannot replace missing data without a validated methodology.
   3. AI-based creation or manipulation of images, charts, financial tables, conceptual frameworks, or original research data is strictly prohibited.

For Editors and Peer Reviewers :

1. Confidentiality First
   Editors and reviewers are strictly prohibited from uploading unpublished manuscripts, images, or data into generative AI tools to protect intellectual property, privacy, and confidentiality.
2. Review Integrity
   Peer reviewers must not use AI to evaluate or summarize submitted papers. AI may only be used to refine the language of review reports, provided the reviewer retains full responsibility for the evaluation's accuracy.
