The researcher chose this title because there are several problems that occur in the student environment in learning Arabic, including the lack of vocabulary that students have, then these students are not from the Arab nation either in terms of nationality or culture, and the teacher's teaching method is too focused on memorizing the vocabulary without focusing on it. to the daily use of vocabulary. The aim of this research is to determine students' abilities after studying using the mustaqilli method and to determine the effect of the mustaqilli method to improve students' abilities in obtaining vocabulary at MTsN 1 Bireuen. In this research, researchers used a quantitative approach in the experimental method section. The population in this study was all 2nd grade students at MTsN 1 Bireuen, totaling 10 classes, with a total of 270 students. The samples are class 2.1 as an experimental class with a total of 26 students and class 2.2 as a control class with a total of 26 students. The instruments used are observation and tests. Based on the results of observations and test scores carried out by researchers, both from the homogeneity test and normality test, the t-count value is 0.58 and the t-table value is 2.008, where the t-count>t-table value. Therefore, Ha from this research hypothesis is rejected and Ho is accepted, meaning that there is no influence of the mustaqilli method to improve students' ability to obtain vocabulary.
