Jurnal Karya Ilmiah Pendidik dan Praktisi SD & MI (JKIPP) is a journal with a leading peer-review platform and serves as an official source of information. JKIPP is published twice a year. The following statement outlines the ethical conduct expected of all parties involved in the publication of articles in this journal, including authors, editors, reviewers, and the publisher (PGMI Study Program, FTIK IAIN Pontianak).

 

JOURNAL HISTORY

Jurnal Karya Ilmiah Pendidik dan Praktisi SD & MI (JKIPP) is a medium for publishing scientific works that was first published in 2021; however, challenges arose during subsequent publication processes. The challenge encountered was difficulty distinguishing it from the previously published *Jurnal Kartini*. However, due to complications during the ISSN application process, the name “Jurnal Kartini” was changed to “Jurnal Karya Ilmiah.”

Jurnal Karya Ilmiah Pendidik dan Praktisi SD & MI (JKIPP) was established in 2021. Initially, the journal’s name was not the Jurnal Karya Ilmiah Pendidik dan Praktisi SD & MI (JKIPP) but rather the R.A. Kartini Journal. However, due to complications during the ISSN application process—which recommends that the main title of a scientific journal not include the names of figures, places, or institutions—the name R.A. Kartini Journal was changed to Jurnal Karya Ilmiah Pendidik dan Praktisi SD & MI.

Jurnal Karya Ilmiah Pendidik dan Praktisi SD & MI (JKIPP) serves as a platform for scientific publication in the field of elementary education. The original purpose of establishing this journal was to provide a space for lecturers, teachers, researchers, and students to disseminate research findings and scientific studies relevant to the advancement of knowledge and practice in the field.

However, during its management, the journal faced challenges in the early stages of implementation, particularly regarding the lack of manuscripts/articles submitted by authors and the limited human resources available to manage the journal sustainably. As a result, the publication process has not yet been able to run optimally as planned. Consequently, in 2021, only one issue was published, after which publication ceased at Vol. 1, No. 1.

In line with the institution’s development and the enhancement of human resource capacity, the management is committed to revitalizing the journal’s operations through:

  • The formation of a new, active, and competent editorial team.
  • Raising awareness among faculty and students regarding the importance of scientific publication.
  • Collaboration with external authors and reviewers.
  • Improving the OJS management system and the quality of manuscript handling.

Through these commitments, the Jurnal Karya Ilmiah Pendidik dan Praktisi SD & MI (JKIPP) successfully published Vol. 2, No. 1 in 2023, and since then, publication has been consistent and sustainable, with two issues released each year.
