ANALISIS KESULITAN BELAJAR MATEMATIKA SISWA SMP DALAM MENYELESAIKAN SOAL CERITA PADA MATERI ARITMATIKA SOSIAL
Mathematics is closely related to daily life. There are several mathematical materials that can be applied to daily life. But often math becomes a difficult thing. Several students do not like mathematics and often make a mistakes while working, resulting in students having difficulty learning mathematics. In solving story problems on social arithmetic material, there are students who have difficulties. This can be seen when students cannot complete work while doing story problems. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to determine the difficulty of learning mathematics students and the factors that cause students to have difficulty learning mathematics. This research is a qualitative descriptive research with the subject being students and class VII teachers in one of the junior high schools in Bandung Regency. The data collection techniques used are test, interview, and documentation techniques. In the stage of analyzing data using a model developed by Miles and Huberman which includes data reduction, data presentation, and conclusions. The results of this study show that the types of mathematics learning difficulties experienced by students include difficulty understanding social arithmetic concepts, difficulty in counting, and difficulty in solving problems. And the effort made by teachers in overcoming learning difficulties is to provide additional explanations or by providing additional practice questions as a means of practicing students.
