EKSPLORASI ETNOMATEMATIKA MATERI GEOMETRI PADA MOTIF KAIN SONGKET MELAYU PONTIANAK
Abstract
Culture can be used to explore mathematical concepts as an effort to bring mathematics closer to realistic and public perceptions, and aspects of this culture can be used as mathematics learning materials in schools. That is why this study aims to explore the elements and concepts of geometry in the Pontianak malay songket fabric according to the point of view of ethnomathematics. This study uses qualitative research methods, data collection is done by means of literature studies. This form of research is explorative research through ethnographic approach. The results of this study showed that the motifs contained in the fabric songket melayu Pontianak found flat geometric elements namely rhombus, circle and parallelogram. There is also the concept of transformation geometry, namely reflection (reflection), translation (displacement), and dilation (enlargement or reduction) which can be used as a source of learning geometry material.
